It seems like the majority of relationships I've been in have been those where I am the geek guy and my partner is a non-geek. Many times having a higher sense of aesthetics than me, which isn't a high hurdle to leap over. =)
A symbiotic relationship where we bring two distinct sets of knowledge, skills, and experiences.
But then I watch Myth Busters and see those hot geek girls getting their geek on and my active imagination starts running...
I know there are thousands of geek girls in the SF/east bay area...
Are there any single geek girls here in the SF/east bay area?
Specs upon request. B)

Re: I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I found a geek girl.

I checked out OkCupid.com based on the recommendation of someone on Tribe. Totally free (seriously free) totally worthwhile and actually a lot of fun. I'm using is to find friends only, and my profile says so, but I'm still getting offered dates by hot, intelligent, geeky chicks 3 or 4 times a week. It is the Mecca of single, poly and socially open folks just like us.
I'm sorry to sound like an advert, I'm just really happy to have found it. The only downside is that I'm on the site so much, I'm barely using Tribe anymore.

Sun, March 23, 2008 - 8:43 PMHmm, I'm not in the Bay area. But even if I were...
I'd just end up shuffling a little, looking down at my feet, mumbling something unintelligible. Ya know, that whole geek thing. -

We can DO that <lol>??
I want a geek girl who:
* has lived through the 80s (has to get my pop-culture references!)
* loves console games that AREN'T SPORTS <lol>
* knows what Thaco is but no longer cares
* can rattle off Sci-Fi movie/TV lines and can understand the ones that *I* rattle off
* will go to a con with me but will also shower every day that we're there <snicker>
* has a vocabulary that makes my knees weak
* appreciates the difference between being a snob and a connoisseur
* will sit here and watch Doctor Who but will also go *outside* once in a while
* specializes in something that I know nothing about (like Physics, or rocket science), so I can learn something new
* cleans up beautifully but isn't afraid to leave the house in jeans and a geeky t-shirt
* Obviously, is queer and poly-oriented, since I'm a girl who already has one life partner
* Probably about 50 other things that I can't think of this early in the morning <g>.
See why I never find a geek girl to date <lol>? -
-
"* knows what Thaco is but no longer cares"
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 10:33 AMAwwww....well that puts me on the no list.
I care about THAC0...I love THAC0......

Re: I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I found a geek girl.
Sat, March 29, 2008 - 6:29 AMFirst you must observe the geek girl in their native environment. :D
The geek girl can be highly illusive , I know many in the bay area, Most of them I met though other groups and communities such as the BDSM scene there. :D -

Flicka, of course you're right. Who do I go for??? Many sorts of ladies who all have some sort of special talent or asset.
Examples:
'07 Burning Man: A weld on my Mutant Vehicle failed and I was referred to "Assholes Garage" at the end of our block to have it re-welded. I found the groggy crew just getting up at the crack of noon. After their crew took a look at my dilemma the welder, a hot, fine specimen of womanly welder-hood welded up my frame, dressed in her black mini skirt and nothing else but welding leathers and shield. 30 minutes, and a Beefeaters peace offering later, I was on my dusty way. Skinny, pale, dyed medium length black hair, tall boots. Lovely smile. I witnessed an empowered woman. I like that.
SF Decompression Party: Met a bunch of hot women but one stood out from the rest. Many ladies wanted to dance on my Surfboard but I was concerned with safety. I instructed everyone who got on it to be careful. The usual response was something like "whatever dude". One goddess stopped, looked me straight in my eyes, and thanked me for being concerned with her safety. She instantly went up 5 points on my "hotness" chart. We danced all night together. Consideration goes a long way for me especially these days.
An ex GF: Met her on the way back from Northstar. Blackjack dealer. Introduced myself on a dare from a friend. ( I get shy around really hot women and wasn't going to say "Hello") Then I found out she was a published author, spoke 4 languages, ex stripper, and had a great sense of humor. (commuting to incline village every weekend killed it for me). Such a cool woman.
Gamers do nothing for me being a recovered gamer myself.
Technology girls don't do it for me as that was my last career.
I like people who are different than me in some areas. Nothing specifically. Self respect, honesty, open-mindedness, are necessary traits. And a healthy sexual appetite. Just sayin'... =)
The grease monkey, pole dancing geek girl could be good too now that you mention it. LMAO...
Am I a bit more clear? -

Re: I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I found a geek girl.
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 3:32 PMMmmmmmm.... all of these female hormones flowing around me I'm starting to thing nasty, dirty thoughts. Work benches and power tools. Female geeks in faded jeans and tank tops. Sweat and flirtation. Mutual trapezius manipulation followed by repetitive gluteus maximus flexation. (translates to shoulder rubs followed by sex) Hey, did I just say that? B)

Tue, April 8, 2008 - 10:18 PMhahahahaha....sorry about that - I've worked in the adult industry (on the geek side of things) for the last five and a half years, and it has woefully eroded my filter for things naughty. :) -
