Ok, I haven't been very active on here lately, but it's time to fix that.
My boyfriend broke up with me last night. Yes, Valentine's Day Eve. As I've been thinking the last while today, I realized that my life and friends had come second to his for the entire time we'd known each other, and it's time for me to get my life back on track. I need to find my own group of geeks to be nerdy with, get out there and spend time with other people, start playing games again, and generally build a life around me and my interests. Thankfully, it appears that most of you share my interests!
I like board games, science fiction books/movies/series, creating things, the SCA, jokes in very bad taste, video games, being almost (but not quite) TOO goofy, and sitting around a table until 2am laughing until my sides hurt. I also like getting outside! I just moved to a log cabin up in the Santa Cruz mountains in Woodside, so I plan to start hiking like a mother bear. I also rock climb, including teaching at the local gym in San Francisco (that may change locations once I get the move finished). Mini golf is lots of fun, as is playing catch in the park with a frisbee or playing on a playground (if we can get all the damn kids off the swings).
If any of these sound like fun, or if there is anyone else out there who wants to go do something geeky (I've lived here a year and a half, yet STILL never been to the Tech museum!) or non-geeky-yet-fun with other geeky types, own up, and let's get this show on the road.

Re: Need More Geeks!!!
Fri, February 15, 2008 - 8:29 AMWow! I'm very jealous of your place in the Santa Cruz mountains. When I was a kid in Los Gatos, I used to go running off up there. Probably dangerous for a girl alone, but the woods are enchanting. If you're interested, I'm having a Tea Party at my place in Oakland on Saturday the 23rd from 1-5. There will probably be geeks there, but mostly women. We may watch an episode or two of Lexx. We are also trying to put together another party for Lord of the Rings Risk. PM me if you're interested.

Mon, March 3, 2008 - 2:46 PMCongratulations on moving into the gorgeous forest down there, and on your new focus on yourself, your life and your interests!
I'm a geeky girl over in the East Bay (Berkeley), and don't get down to your area nearly often enough to be helpful, but wanted to say hello. :) *waves*
