That's an excellent question which I wondered too.

It does hold up well under normal wear and tear and even to the occasional fingernail scratching. It received 4-5 coats of clear coat and was let to cure under heat to harden on every coat.

the problem with these mice is that they are so clean looking that dirt shows up quickly on them. (Dont' try eating BBQ ribs and computing at the same time) Gotta' wash it regularly unlike those dark colored mice. I Guess that's why they are mostly dark.
